Sales Representative Position

 

We are looking for an excited ambassador for our brand at various farmers markets + events throughout the Portland area this summer! The commitment is 12-20 hours / week, with the option to do more through additional demos if desired.

 

Start Date: Flexible, ideally May 16

End Date: 4-month contract with opportunity to extend

Commitment: 12-20 hrs / week

 

Schedule: Schedule will vary based on the week’s events, but you can expect to work 2 weekends per month, as well as 1-2 weekdays / week. Most markets and events will start at the earliest at 10 AM, and will wrap up at the latest by 7 PM (with the exception of Portland Night Market).  A sample week may look like this:

  • Sunday, 10-2: King Farmer’s Market (5 hrs with set-up and tear-down)

  • Monday, 10-2: Pioneer Courthouse Farmer’s Market (5 hrs)

  • Saturday, 8:30-2: PSU Farmer’s Market (7 hrs)

  • Optional: Wednesday, 3-6: New Seasons Store Demo (3 hrs)

Location: Our HQ is at 1140 SE 7th Ave. Portland, but this position will be very mobile as they will be moving from event to event! Events will primarily take place in the Portland Metro area; the farthest event may be the Nike Farmer’s Market in Beaverton.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Ground Up brand at farmer’s markets, demos + other events **

  • Sample and sell Ground Up nut butters to potential customers

  • Share the Ground Up story

  • Be an ambassador for our brand and mission; we want customers to walk away with a positive experience that they can’t wait to tell their friends about!

  • Input transactions on Square (handle cash and credit card payments)

  • Keep track of inventory and sell-through at events

  • **Working a demo or event includes setting up, working it in its entirety, and breaking down according to company protocol
     

Requirements:

  • Must have a car / reliable transport

  • Positive attitude

  • Friendly and personable

  • Professionalism—you will be the face of Ground Up and we expect you to handle yourself in a positive and polished manner

  • Flexibility and adaptability—this role is ideal for a self-starter who’s comfortable taking ownership of their variable schedule and able to wear many hats

  • Ability to stand on their feet for 5 hours consecutively

  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
